Institute of Photonic and Photonic Technology (IPPT) was founded in 1997 based on Shaanxi Key Laboratory of Photoelectric Technology. Prof. Xun Hou, a member of Chinese Academy of Science is the director of IPPT and Prof. Jintao Bai is the vice director. The academic leaders of the institute are Prof. Xun Hou and Jintao Bai, and the young and middle-aged academic mainstays of the scientific and technological contingents include Prof. Zhaoyu Ren, Prof. Chongfeng Guo, Prof. Kaige Wang, Prof. Chun Wang and Prof. Xinlong Xu.
